SHIFTING THE CONDITIONED VIEW

I remember as a young child peering frequently into the mirror to try and see who I really was; needless to say, I could see nothing beyond the physical form . . . yet I knew clearly even then that there was something more to know besides the physical body. This inborn conviction led me in time to question life, its purpose, and the status quo, and to explore beyond the ring-pass-not of mankind’s paradigm. I have come to realise over the years that there are many who are similarly inclined and that I am not alone in my search for deeper understanding. It is this quiet and relentless search that brings a deeper satisfaction, meaning and purpose to life.

As we grow into adulthood our personalities are systematically conditioned by social protocols intrinsic to the particular region in which we live. This is unavoidable and conditions the collective psyche to obey those laws and customs that are necessary for harmonious communal living; we learn at an early age to acquiesce to the status quo and to live our lives in accordance with it. We have been doing this as individuals for a long time and have grown familiar with the regime of social adaptation. But in the scheme of social conditioning we tend to lose sight of those deep and penetrative questions that are so implicit in our being and which make us intrinsically human.
We need to remember them.

The thought-forms under which humanity is conditioned are well established on the mental plane and have existed there as a cause for striving towards some form of betterment or freedom. They are taken up and held in mind by those who govern in the political, economic, religious and educational fields, passing down from generation to generation in recurring patterns, and demonstrating on rare occasions some variance in their re-emergence. These mental paradigms have been used in the past and are still used to generate those powerful forces in the world which move the bulk of humanity in a certain direction and they do their job of conditioning effectively. We have been influenced for generations by the longstanding impetus of powerful ideas and have only to cast our minds over the existing regimes in the world to see the extent of their influence, and the familiar overall effect on humanity at large.

Nowhere do we see a unique governing body that is motivated by selfless, innovative and clear humanitarian designs: monetary gain and material profit is the name of the game and the primary motivating force in most quarters. The relatively new idea of establishing right human relations across the board pops up here and there, but the intent to follow through systematically on a global scale is still very much lacking. It is becoming evident to many of us in the world that the existing thought-forms under which we have lived for so long have played their part and are now becoming ineffective and obsolete; we are growing weary of the historical trend and long for a breath of fresh air! What comes to mind clearly is the pressing need for SOMETHING NEW; perhaps an intelligent thought-form of a calibre so simple, and yet, far superior to those with which we have grown too accustomed over the last millennia or so.

The new idea that is vitally needed in our world now is simple and powerful . . .

We are to realise the basic Oneness underlying all forms, even if it is understood only theoretically. This is a KEY THOUGHT-FORM of enormous magnitude and requiring emphasis in all fields of human endeavour; if taken to heart it will begin to set aright the present world structure in the fields of religion, economics, politics and education. These fields of human expression are a natural outcome of the long evolutionary process and are ever in need of an upgrade with the incoming of each new generation. As humanity evolves, so must the systems under which it lives. We are beginning to see signs of this much-needed SHIFTING of outdated views in certain sectors, but before these changes can emerge into the light of day, the old must be discarded in the collective mind-set in order to make room for the new.

The goal ahead is becoming clear and the emphasis must lean towards RIGHT HUMAN RELATIONS. How can this be developed on a global scale?
1. By the awareness of our non-separativeness – We Are One Humanity;
2. By the conscious intent to reveal the quality of Unity;
3. By the intelligent re-organisation of our world in line with these fundamental truths.

The work of humanity, the world aspirant, is to see the Light, the one Light that is the Light within all.
