“The fate of men and women is determined by the values which govern their decisions“.
It is obvious to all clear-thinking people that we are now living through a crisis period in human history, a crisis that is highly significant to the human race as a whole. It is also evident to all people of reason and goodwill that the time has come for re-evaluation and examination of the values we choose to live by.
The highest value that we may hold in our hearts is that which takes into account the welfare of the Whole, for the human race is one. Until we see ourselves as an organic part of one corporate whole and functioning in a manner conducive to the welfare of all, we will continue to be the cause of our many problems. This concept of wholeness opens the door to fundamental changes in our social, economic and political systems, to right human relations across the globe, and to the correct development of a new civilisation. Acknowledgement of spiritual truth ever inspires the conscience and the consciousness of those who seek to create a better way of life in the future. In the conscious and intelligent formulation of our future civilisation we may lay down the correct plans that are in line with the purpose for which we are born.
What are the intrinsic values by which we should live?
A Love of Truth
A Sense of Justice
A Spirit of Cooperation
A Sense of Personal Responsibility
Serving the Common Good

Only that which is good for all is good for each, is a motto that we would do well to strive towards. As we learn to release those areas of selfishness in our psyche and to replace them with goodwill and generosity towards all, we begin to live under a new system of values in our personal, national and international relations. Right human relations is ever the key to humanity’s happiness and prosperity; separateness, on the other hand, is a major cause of disharmony and is created primarily by the superficial thinkory-thonkery of the concrete mind, – it engenders lack of vision and misunderstanding and is now ready for transcendence. It is a life-changing experience for those of us who are now participating in the current humanitarian movements circulating at this time across the globe. Everyday we receive through our emails a number of selfless requests engendered for the sole purpose of upliftment of some worthy cause, and each time we commit, it answers an evocative call that comes from deep within the soul. It is impossible for a single person to create those changes that are so needed in the world now, but with organised group intent based on intelligence and true creativity we can forge that which is needed to shift the value system under which we have lived for too long.
It is given from reliable sources that values are both material and spiritual. The constant and ongoing misuse of the material resources of the planet monopolised for self-serving interests are the fundamental causes of many of our problems today. It is the ignore-ance of our spiritual being and of the values that lie therein which supports the blind collective drive towards the misuse of the material world and of each other.
Material values – when considered by humanity as the main goal – confine the individual, the group or the nation within limits that serve only the interests of that unit. It is this limited mind-set which creates the many cleavages and social divisions still so prevalent in our present-day culture. Where motives of narrow self-interest and of national interest alone remain, nothing of value to human culture and civilisation results. True material values must be built on the intelligent use of material substance provided from planetary resources for the creation of forms which benefit the greatest good of the largest number, and not just the selective few. The goal of the “new materialism” – towards which many are now engaged – is to take into account the highest welfare of the planet itself and of all species that live upon it, and more importantly, it stems from a knowledge and understanding of spiritual values.
Spiritual values relate to the revelations of the soul, to freedom, and to the creative development of the human race as a unit. They promote the inborn human tendency towards synthesis and reveal to the inner vision of humanity its innate capacity for change and spiritual growth. Soul values are of a crucial nature and symbolise the upward spiral of spiritual potential. They are becoming evident in those measures that are now being taken by those who are attuned to the incoming energies of the new age.

I’ve been recently thinking the exact same matter personally lately. Happy to see another person on the same wavelength! Nice article.
