Below is a short excerpt written recently by someone who encapsulates very simply the present state of affairs in the human kingdom.
As we know only too well, humanity is in the midst of an energy crisis. Most of our current energy forms are causing excessive pollution and environmental degradation, and scientists worldwide are seeking cleaner forms of energy. Natural sources of energy, such as solar, wind and wave are only scratching the surface of the problem, and as yet the radical new forms of energy as predicted by certain Wise Ones have yet to be granted to humanity. A new form of energy tapped from the ethers or produced by nuclear fusion, unlimited, safe and clean – remains the Holy Grail and more than anything else when it does come it will indicate that a degree of purification in the mass consciousness has been accomplished. The writer goes on to say that the quantity and type of energy being produced on a planetary scale and the way it is being used, reflects the stage of humanity’s spiritual progress.

Sitting quietly this morning while observing the change of season, the blooming trees and flowers showing off their vibrant colours in the glorious sunshine, everything seemed so invigorating with the joie de vivre that comes when the sun shines. It suddenly dawned on me that there are four clearly defined kingdoms existing side by side on our planet: the mineral, vegetable, animal and human kingdoms, each with their numerous distinct forms and species as embodiments of the One Life.
Through the use of imagination and creative intelligence we have fashioned for ourselves over millennia a relatively sophisticated world; we use substances from the three lower kingdoms to build the world around us and from them we have developed forms of shelter, clothing, food, transport and many forms of useful and aesthetic enjoyments. Yet, looking at the present crisis in which we find ourselves it might perhaps be concluded that humanity is at a present point of regression, unable to solve the mounting difficulties and material crisis. From the plundering of nature’s resources and the widespread destruction of the environment on a global scale it is becoming clear that humanity, as a whole, presently lacks the ability to understand and profit from past experience. The current state of global affairs reflects as clear as day the present level of being of humanity as it now stands, and it is becoming obvious to the reasonably-inclined individual that we have much further to go as a race in our understanding of life and its true purpose. Yes, there are those among us who may understand to some degree what is happening on deeper levels, and perhaps they are in their own way trying to do something to improve the situation, but surely it requires many more of us to engage more fully, as a collective whole, in those areas of thought and feeling which will invoke something new and revelatory in response to urgent need. It is clear that the out-dated thinkory-thonkery mindset of the past cannot solve the present impasse, and the real question before us is how can this inner growth of intelligence be achieved within the mindset of the collective.
I’m always amazed at the end of each week just how quickly the time has passed; so much seems to be happening in a very short space of time compared with the flow of time in past decades. Is time speeding up? Catastrophes of every kind, man-made and natural, are more common now than ever before and we continue to face enormous challenges on every level. Is humanity now the aspirant, experiencing tremendous forces pouring into the collective consciousness from higher and lower aspects of its nature? This is a question put forward by the above speaker, and it is reiterated here for further reflection. Are we indeed experiencing the birth pangs of a New Age which require fundamental change of focus in our collective role as stewards of the earth and as guardians of future humanity? Perhaps the hypothesis as given in the above quote is prophetic:
A new form of energy tapped from the ethers or produced by nuclear fusion, unlimited, safe and clean – remains the Holy Grail, and more than anything else when it does come it will indicate that a degree of purification in the mass consciousness has been accomplished.
I believe the writer is alluding to that greatest of maxims: As Above, So Below. Before anything emerges clearly in the physical world it must first be initiated on subtler levels. Energy follows thought. All physical manifestation is a reflection of that which is conceived in higher realms, and it is ever a question of time before it works out as fact in the physical realm. The fundamental change that is urgently required to meet the present crisis is a one hundred and eighty degree shift in focus in our collective thinking. ‘As we think, so we are.’ The world of mind and the power of thought underlie all physical and psychic manifestation. What then might bring about this fundamental change in our thinking? Or indeed, is it now in process of being worked out as we speak?
