Two sets of principles are to be found controlling human life: the selfish and the unselfish, the individual good and the group good, the objective goal and the subjective goal, the material incentive and the spiritual impulse, active national patriotism and the idea of internationalism, separative and fanatical religious belief, and the idea of unified religion.
Our present civilisation is founded on many forms of duality created by the schisms existing between those who are centred in the personality (integrated and separative consciousness) and those who are aligned with the soul (loving and group-conscious). Here is the major divergence in the world today with the weight of power lying still on the side of separation, as it is the line of least resistance for the majority.
As the concept of ‘Right Human Relations’ continues to shift more into the waking consciousness of men and women everywhere, so the emphasis of world thought will also shift definitely on the side of loving group-awareness and new understandings; as this grows in manifestation, those social laws that are based on group synthesis will make their presence felt on a global scale. We are beginning to see these fundamental changes coming into great effect now despite the increase in world conflicts. There is great need today to make the meaning of these new laws clear, simple, and potently understandable. These laws are those which govern the One Soul of humanity and are developed and established through group identity and right human relations.
The thread which will guide us out of the bewildering maze of confused thought, and into which we must enter, is the golden one of group love, group understanding, group relations and group conduct.
