A ROUGH AND BROAD GENERALISATION

We may take our stand upon the premise that the nature of life in the world is experience-gaining, because we see this happening around us on every side and can note it occurring in our own lives.

With this in mind we may divide people into three groups, as given by the wise:

1. Those who gain experience in an unconscious way and are therefore unaware of the deeper significances in life. This is due to the fact that they are completely absorbed with the results of experience. They are relatively young in this world.

2. Those who are vaguely aware of the fact that there are definite lessons to be learnt in life and are therefore willing to adapt to the circumstances in which they find themselves in order to learn. These lessons enhance their lives in some practical way, expand their sensitive perception, or develop a particular quality or characteristic of which they are in need. These are older souls.

3. Those who are awakening to the purpose of their experience and are bringing to every event (as it occurs) an intelligent response which will extract some gain to the life of the soul. They are discovering that the environment in which they find themselves is an opportunity for character refinement and a means of true service to others. These are old and experienced souls.

  1. Aw, this was a really nice post. I thought I would like to write like this – taking time and actual effort to make a very good article is very rare…
