A VIEW OF THE WORLD

The problems of humanity are clearly visible in the world at large and there is much cause for concern in regard to the global management of the planet within every field of human endeavour. We are more aware than ever before of the growing need for proper and immediate attention to the prevention and alleviation of suffering, so rampant today, and the need for right education which will bring about the elimination of ignorance in one form or another. Yet, despite the urgency for humanitarian relief on a large scale, and for the eradication of certain malpractices in regard to global activity, we see that there are many in the world still who live in complete disregard for the increasing discomfort and unhappiness of others, for such is the extent of ‘psychological sleep’ in which many of us still live. One wonders just how long the reprieve will last under a global system that is founded on fraudulent finance and economic and political corruption.

The most interesting point to note in all this present planetary discord, however, is the fact of exposure. The effects of our past actions over the centuries and the results of many flawed decisions in recent times – particularly in light of the experience of two world wars – are quickly coming to a head, and we see more clearly than ever before the lack of maturity still governing humanity. Fundamental change must come about in regard to our thinking and in the way that we live, and we can only hope that this change will occur in good time so as to remedy the cumulative and disastrous effects on the planet caused directly by our long-term collective mind-set and selfishness.

It is becoming clearly evident that there are many in the world now who hold to a more mature view of the universe and of the purpose of life itself. The knowledge of truth and the deeper understanding of what constitutes genuine human values are definitely beginning to shift the old selfish view and there is much to be grateful for in the fact that the light of wisdom is more readily available to all who seek it. As a race we are on the brink of emerging into something new and with this awakening we see the light of day and the love of Truth within the hearts of men; it is this shift in consciousness which brings right solutions to impending problems. Through love and intelligence, rightly applied, fundamental change comes and like a living fire it spreads everywhere, igniting the minds and hearts of all towards the good, the true and the beautiful.

To solve any problem one has to find the cause, and to find the cause one must go to the source. Reason and love reveal natural law, the ignorance of which is the cause of every adverse effect we see in the material world. Until humanity as a whole is willing to adjust its lifestyle to the universal laws which constitute right living, it will continue to reap the effects of unlawful living.
