Here is a quote expounding the great drama of sex, re-enacted in man. At certain stages of the long evolutionary journey, we come to realise sequentially the true meaning of union, of sex. The drama of sex will play out for each of us, three times, each on a higher turn of the spiral:
1. In physical plane sex, in relation to the opposite – the man or woman – resulting in the reproduction of the species.
2. In the union of the lower energies with the higher, resulting in some form of higher creative work.
3. In the union within the head of the energies of the personality with those of the soul, resulting in the instant flashing out of that Light which is the conscious birth of Spirit within matter.
According to Eastern philosophy, there are in the head of man two great energy centres. One of them, the centre between the eyebrows, blends and fuses the five types of energy which are transmitted to it and blended with it: these five are the energies of the three centres situated below the diaphragm, the throat, and the heart centre. The head centre is awakened through meditation, right knowledge and service, and it is through this centre that the soul, situated on higher levels of the mental plane, eventually makes contact and becomes aligned with the other centres within the body.
As we learn to direct the energies of the mind, emotions and physical body (the three-fold personality), purifying and blending them to the service of the higher Will, so we automatically raise the energies of the lower centres up the spine to the centre of distribution between the eyebrows. Eventually the influence of both the head centres increases and becomes wider and wider until they make contact with each other’s vibratory or magnetic field, causing the true light to flash out.
Great is the Life of Man and truly wonderful are the functions which make us what we are.
