Evil and its effects are largely dependent upon humanity for a functioning channel.
It is said that humanity’s function as a collective whole is to transmit and handle energy and its many forces. The right handling of energy is achieved through a deepening sense of responsibility towards each and all and signifies a growing alignment between the personality and the soul. These two expressions of activity – personality and soul activity – are very different in quality and power.
As mind grows cognisant of the contrasts between personality and soul expression, so it begins to understand clearly the distinct effects created by each.
The overall effect initiated by the process of discrimination between personality and soul expression is felt in the mind nature and in the gradual change of mental attitudes.
As these distinctions are clearly registered over time, so we become occupied with living a dual life, simultaneously in the subjective world and in the objective world of daily living. The duality arising in the consciousness produces the necessary points of crisis and a growing awareness which expresses more frequently the soul attitude, soul awareness, and soul consciousness through the medium of the decentralised personality upon the physical plane. This we learn to manage and direct consciously over time and through experience in our day to day living.
