“One of the biggest glamours is wanting something today, or tomorrow at the very latest, rather than building towards it, being patient, and fashioning it. We have to fashion our own evolution and development. It does not just happen. Many just want to ‘go with the flow’. If we go with the flow nothing happens. Our interior life is not out there flowing. It is, actually, a lazy, fatalistic attitude.
Many think that if they meet the right people and come under the right influences they will ‘get there’, wherever ‘there’ is for them. That is probably true, but who are the right people? What are the right influences? It is better if we are open and aware and ready to recognize what we are given.
If we have read too many of the wrong books, as most ‘New Agers’ have, when we meet the right thing we do not recognize it. That is the problem for a lot of people. They do not recognize what they are given, for example, in the opportunity that is now available to work for the reappearance of the Christ and the Masters of Wisdom, the externalization of the Hierarchy. Can we think of anything more important to humanity, in the whole of life, than that? A time, again, when the Christ is walking among us, talking to millions of people on radio and television, and through the media. This is perhaps how it may unfold initially. He is not going to sit up on a mountainside hidden away, but will be at the forefront of our life in some way.
The advent of the Coming One will be a fantastic opportunity for personal evolution. It is not that we will get it because we have done something so we deserve something back. A lot of people have that feeling about their life and service activity. They do not do it because they really want to serve. What they do is often a bit of a bore but they do it because they think it will bring good karma. There are many who chip away at the big, heavy block of karma on their back and think that everything they do is going to make a difference to the weight. If it is true service it would, but if it is compulsory, conditioned and begrudged service then it is doubtful that it would. Perhaps that is why some people do not change after years and years of what they call service, years and years of what they call prayer and meditation. They do not seem to change because their approach to it is not real. Their soul is not involved, and that is the problem.”

I thought this was a good insight into our overall mind-set. Kudos to all awakening souls who sense the urgency of the times and the need for selfless service. May we plough on in the spirit of true service in this time of world need.
