Q. What happens to a soul that doesn’t develop over several lifetimes?
R: It may need, and receive, some special karmic stimulus. We live in a cyclic Cosmos, a cyclic world; we create in cycles, live our life in cycles. Likewise, the soul manifests itself cyclically. It does so in such a way as to get the best result for its intention and purpose. When its reflection, the personality, is not making very much progress, perhaps for a number of incarnations, the soul may place its vehicle into a situation of adversity, of limitation. This would then generate tension, and therefore the needed progress, because there is never progress without tension. Advance is always the result of spiritual tension which is that motivating force which leads to release and renewed activity.
