“The challenges facing humanity are more intense than any time since the origins of the race. Human failures are exposed in unremitting images of atrocities committed by individuals and organized groups. Such images are paired with trails of wreckage left by natural forces. Millions of people are victims of these waves of destruction; billions are besieged by scenes of a dying civilization. They can choose to react in several ways: they can turn the dial; they can absorb the horror & become paralyzed with fear; or they can allow what they see & hear to alter the course of their lives. Many are feeling increasingly impelled to ask: Am I my brother’s keeper? If not, who am I? We cannot overstate the importance to choose the direction of one’s life, both present and future. One can passively allow the forces of darkness to reign on Earth or become an active force for the light of Good. Neutrality is impossible.”
