The existence of the soul is a reality and a growing acknowledgement in the lives of many today. At some point in all our lives, the soul’s light makes its presence felt and we begin to work with a greater measure of love and understanding. At least, it has been so for me and for others I know.
In the recognition of the soul there is also recognition of a personality. In this state of duality, one moves and stumbles through life, seeking to define and understand more clearly who one really is. For those awakening to the indwelling Soul, the need for a clear distinction between the two becomes a very real necessity.
The culminating point in the struggle for one’s true identity occurs at some point in one’s life, and if the struggle bears fruit, there is the realisation of the soul as the ever-present Observer in the field of personality—a silent witness to all thoughts, feelings and activities. The realisation occurs at a crisis point in the life, and yet, despite the clarity of thought gained, it is difficult for the awakening soul to shine its light in a world at loggerheads between the Oversoul and the dominant world of Personality.
In our everyday group relations, we experience the effects of ‘personality’ dominance and the difficulty to shine the soul’s light through thick clouds of pervasive thoughts and emotions. It is a challenge we face individually, until the light and love of the higher Self grows bright enough to eclipse the self-centred propensity of personality.
The defining point for me came through an experience of group work under higher Guidance. In the clarity of this light, a bridge between the personality and soul became more subtly visible to the mind’s eye. One recognised more clearly the differences in quality of individuals and groups who are more influenced by high-grade personalities, and those who are guided more subtly by the love, light, and wisdom of the soul.
In awakening to the existence of one’s soul, a sense of unity and integration with the personality gradually develops. With it comes growing subtle telepathic communications between the two, which extend in time to other awakening souls. Subtle connections are sensed from Those in higher realms Who seek to guide the soul toward a Greater Light. Impressions are received from the spiritual realms from time to time. With regular guidance and meditation, soul connections grow in ways that are perhaps too subtle to describe; integration between the two worlds becomes a reciprocal relationship in so far as one continues to merge and invoke the higher Light.
The Lighted Bridge between the two worlds—the spiritual and human—is a product of love and implicit trust between Those Who guide from above and kindred souls who learn on planes below. The true bridge is a channel of light created by the flow of love and wisdom from librerated minds on higher planes into the minds of integrated individuals or groups on lower planes. The bridging becomes possible as the personality submits willingly to higher influences of the soul which is ever connected to the Kingdom of Souls.
In the turning of the tide of Earth’s life today, bridges of Light are being constructed in preparation for a new world founded on the qualities of the soul, as opposed to the personality. Group work under ashramic guidance is the growing initiative under which the new world is being forged. As the number of awakened souls increases, we will see and experience great transformations in our civilisation and culture.

because it is part of that world
