Here’s an interesting conversation dictated by an awakening personality to impressions received from the Soul, the Higher Self.
The Soul speaks:
“As you have been discovering by analysing and studying your life material, you know that your whole life has been following a plan; the apparent misfortunes, the worries and sufferings which have been great, were all necessary. Now you have come to the fruition of your life, when the results of your life work will become evident. A great deal of what you have written down is a concentrated account of happenings and experiences; many repetitions of building up protection, cleansing, and neutralising negative places and energies.
You know who you are, and to a great extent, why you are here, but you are wise enough to make no claims. This is as it should be. And it is best that other people make no claims for you. Spiritual work is best performed quietly, in secret, in the background. One or two people may recognise you—they have been allowed to do so, but they keep the knowledge to themselves. Some have thought they recognised you and have changed their minds. This is no doubt a good thing. No man can change who you are because he thinks it politic or expedient to do so. No man can change the truth, however much he might wish to do so. God himself would not try to do so, since it is his truth.
Your position is difficult. It usually has been. You can make no claims; you must be modest, and yet you must have a real sense of the importance of your work. You regard yourself as no more than a channel, rightly so, but you are, in yourself, important as a channel. Long training and devotion to the true path has gained you great respect from higher levels. You have never been afraid to accept full responsibility for your every action from quite an early age. Of course, you are not the only one. There are very many, but that is something you know well. Your position is not easy.
What are you to do with some of your material? Quite a lot cannot be given out, at least not yet—mankind is not ready for it in spite of what some people say. He would abuse it. Some of the material was for you alone and will never be given out. You will be told to destroy it as you write. A great deal of this new information is now available to you, which will have to be held in reserve. What are you to do with this script, for instance, and for the others which make your identity clear to the perceptive ones? Is it to let them read this, making a claim you should not make? This is a difficult problem which you will have to tackle and face up to. Of course, your true identity refers to your higher self, your Soul, who is dictating this now. The integration between your personality and me, your Soul, is very complete now. Naturally, I am not always in evidence, though I am always there. Your conscious personality must play a part in your everyday material life and face its own problems. It will no doubt delight you, when you do shed your physical body, to see how beautifully simple it all is.”

Throughout these spiritual “downloads,” the awakening personality was constantly made aware of the dangers of ‘channel’ colouration, both his own and of others—without exception. Nonetheless, recognising this danger in itself diminishes its effect. In the case of this particular personality, the colouration in the downloads appeared to be minimal; the personality was forever analysing, doubting and questioning, which was a good by-product of scientific training. With a proper approach to the Soul, the “core of truth can be recognised.”
No human is perfect, and all personalities have imperfections and are liable to error. No human channel is a hundred percent pure; there is always a certain colouration, however small it may be, at times coming mainly from the personality, from wishful thinking and desires and so on. This can usually be stripped away when one becomes familiar with what is coming through the particular channel. Where there is sincerity and faith, there is always a core of truth which can be recognised.

Communication between the personality and soul in each of us is ever accessible, though it requires a purified personality and a firm adherence to Truth.
