“Being able ‘to love your neighbour as yourself’ is important to improve the human condition. When this happens our world is transformed.
Loving one’s neighbour as oneself is a thought that is sometimes interpreted as the duty of penitents, therefore as another burden of life that one has to bear in order to be in line with the dictates of religion. The time has now come to finally bin this interpretation and look more deeply into the truth of the statement.
What we are really talking about here is the essential nature of Oneness and the natural propensity of the soul to love. . . therefore we are talking about esoteric psychology. The word esoteric means hidden and is often reserved for a small circle of individuals. In this case, the psychology is reserved, not because anyone wants to reserve this knowledge for a few individuals only, but because only a few human beings have the ardour to know themselves for who they are in the depths of their Being. Having said that, it appears that there are many more in the world today who are indeed awakening to the impulses of the soul.
The Soul is a very real and deep level of consciousness. Many individuals remain unconscious of its existence. This is because for many the evolutionary journey through numerous incarnations of learning and experience has not yet been completed.
The incomplete development and lack of awareness of the soul results in the ignorance that is the cause of all evil in the world, ignorance that is still blind to the Truth, which alone allows one to perceive the pure essential nature of Being that pervades all of Creation.
The way of Truth is often considered in terms of empathy, kindness, benevolence, sympathy, altruism, etc. These are qualities of the soul of each of us, but the Soul is much more, for it is, in effect, a living identification with the Essence of Life that is the primary cause of the manifestation of the Whole.”
