Will You Come and Join Us?

A lucid dream and lovely painting from two kindred souls

“I was with a group of friends in a school building for adults. We were passing through the wide, wood-paneled hallways on the second floor, looking at the classrooms. When we went briefly to the third floor we noticed three ordinary looking men in casual modern dress walking in front of us.

Now we were on the second floor again, in a room at the end of a hallway. Sunlight streamed in from a large window. When we joined the group of people seated around the table, they seemed to be a close-knit group. As we began taking refreshment, the three men from upstairs appeared and began walking away. I called out, “Will you come and join us?” They turned around and the important man in the middle smiled and came to sit with us while the other two faded into the background.

I saw myself pouring him a cup of coffee into a china cup and placing a scone on a small white plate. I added a white napkin, and he began to eat with us. I would describe him as average height and between the age of 35-40. He had soft brown wavy hair and a very sweet, loving face. It was apparent that he was happy to sit with us.” And there my dream ended.

If an interpretation would be helpful, it could be said that the school building indicated a learning place for advanced knowledge or lessons. The second and third floors could represent the second and third initiations for more advanced groups. The call to join us for coffee was an invocation that was responded to. And lastly, the “breaking of bread together” with the important man might imply a sealing of partnership and the fulfilling of an assignment given to the group seated at the table.

I am certain there was more to the dream than I have recalled, but this is the heart of what happened in the “night class.”
