There is a need today in spiritual circles to demystify those who form the Community of Spiritual Masters. In the excerpt below, we are encouraged to see the Master Teachers of Earth as Elders in our human family and not as demigods in the heavens. Perhaps we are nearing a stage on the spiritual path where we can understand and embrace them as just that: Learned Elders who have travelled the path of ascent further ahead than we have. Perhaps one day we ourselves will become Elders, lending a hand to those who stand on a lower rung of the evolutionary ladder, just as they are now lending a hand to us.

“There is a gap that has grown since the time of Atlantis falling and the setback of the human family at that time. As a result, those who were teachers then, master teachers, withdrew because the humanity that survived had many lessons to learn that no longer required – or rather, could no longer absorb and make use of – the deep wisdom of master teachers. Survivors had been set back and they had to move forward in the most basic ways.
But what happened that was never intended to happen, and is now in the process of being repaired, is that those who were the master teachers, those who pulled back into seclusion and helped very circumspectly from the background, became demigods for those left behind who could not see them as the senior members and valued learned elders of the same human family as those looking up to them.
Adjusting that perception is one of the challenges in the 21st century for the incarnating family as well as for those family members who no longer incarnate. It is a major challenge for two parts of one family who have essentially been separated one from the other.
The reality of the continuum of spiritual evolution must be re-established and that is what the challenge is in this 21st century for Earth.
There are many reasons for mentioning this but one of the primary ones is to help more and more individuals from each grouping of Earth’s human family to better communicate, to understand, to help one another. For those of you incarnating it is to keep a correct perspective on who your teachers are: not demigods, but elders in your own human family.
One day, each one of you reading this will be an elder.”
