The Energy of Life

Herein is a brief exposé of Life taken from the words of an enlightened Being.

“There exists in our manifested universe the expression of an Energy or Life which is the responsible cause of the diverse forms and vast hierarchy of living beings who compose the sum total of all that is.

This Great Life is the basis of Monism—the doctrine that only One Supreme Being exists. It is said that all ‘enlightened men and women’ are Monists. “God is One” is their utterance of Truth. One Life pervades all forms which are expressions in time and space of the central universal energy.

In manifestation, Life produces existence and being. It is therefore the root cause of duality Which is only seen when form is present, and disappears when the form aspect vanishes. We may call this duality: Spirit and Matter.

The One Life, manifesting through matter, produces a third factor which is consciousness. This consciousness is the result of the union of the two (Spirit and Matter) and is the Soul of all beings, whether it be in the form of an atom, or the form of a man, a planet, or a solar system.

The One Life manifests in diversity and yet remains ever unchanged. This central unity is known in time and space as made up of several parts and differentiated, and yet, when time and space are not, only the unity will remain, and only Spirit will persist.

Within the vibratory pulsation of the one manifesting Life, all the lesser lives repeat the processs of being,—Gods, angels, men, and the myriad lives which express themselves through the forms of the kingdoms of nature and the activities of the evolutionary process. The goal is for all to become self-centered and self-determined.

The object for which Life takes form and the purpose of manifested being is the unfoldment of consciousness, or the revelation of the Soul. This may be called the Theory of the Evolution of Light. . . the goal of evolution is found to be a gradual series of light demonstrations.

Veiled and hidden by every form lies Light. As evolution proceeds, matter becomes increasingly a better conductor of the Light. Christ is a wonderful demonstration of the accuracy of this statement, which is reflected beautifully when he proclaimed: “I am the Light of the World”.
