I remember as a teenager humming along to the song: ‘The Age of Aquarius.’ It seemed then as if the world sensed that something new was emerging.
When the moon is in the 7th house
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius

I didn’t give much attention to the words then but the feeling of youth, freedom and optimism was high. On reflection, I can appreciate more now what the impulse really was and the great feeling of hope and joy that it brought to our hearts.
It has been said that the Aquarian Age is now upon us and will continue for another two millennia, in the same way that the last two thousand years were influenced by the Age of Pisces.
I believe that many of us are outgrowing the influenes of the last two millennia and we are sensing something new in the air. The full influence of this new age is not yet clear enough for immediate impact, but it is growing in strength if we look carefully. Opposing the energies of the incoming new age are the long-established forces of the old regimes with their authoritarian tendencies and love of power. There are many small battles occurring everywhere between the old and the new, and the two Great World Wars of the 20th century bear full witness to the fact.
In a nutshell, the Piscean age was based on the principle of one person being in charge and everyone else forced to obey and follow. The new age is bringing with it a growing sense of independence, certainty of knowledge, and a whole new way of engaging in human relations; power and organisation lies now with the group and not so much with the individual. For any lasting good to come of this much needed change in perspective, it will come through group endeavour, through groups that are well-informed on matters of truth.
We must look forward to fundamental change in our collective thinking for the future even though the ongoing preparation appears bleak in the interim and will probably get worse before it gets better!

AND THE MIND’S TRUE LIBERATION.

REFLECTIONS 
The time of guru yoga passes, we are beginning to trust our own “pure wisdom” mind and discern more clearly. Inherent in this is the emancipation which comes from taking responsibility for ourselves. In putting our toes into the water of Aquarius we can understand for ourselves if it is hot or cold, no one can or should, tell us… Watch out you don’t seek to stand upon any fish, though…It is time to stand as free as we each truly are, and to be comfortable and confident in what we find out, on our own journeys…each one unique. Out of diversity is there hope; we must all learn to play our violins.
