A VERY LONG JOURNEY (Part II)

We have noted in the previous posting the arrival of the Life-Streams on the evolutionary arc. We must remember always that the Life Beings, in truth, are ever situated on the second highest plane of the cosmic physical plane. We’ve read also in the last posting that the Field has been ploughed on the descending arc by the accumulation of matter in the form of sheaths/bodies on each of the planes, and that this is done in preparation for the more advanced work ahead which will culminate finally in the Life Beings becoming the Knowers of the Field.

Aeons of time has passed since the Life-Beings have entered the fields of the CPP and they are now sufficiently equipped to begin their ascension on the evolutionary arc; this they will do by the development of their sheaths/bodies, one by one in definite stages, until they are able to consciously register and acknowledge themselves as pure Divine Beings.

The task now is to evolve the sheaths/bodies in a progressive manner and this is achieved through continual expansions of consciousness; but this goal, for a long time, remains unknown to the Life-Beings until they develop the necessary mental tools. For a long time the work is carried on mechanically, as it were, driven solely by the evolutionary drive that is inherent in the Life-Being. In the early stages of the ascending arc these Beings of Life are little more than animal-men at this point.

As the physical body (7th cosmic plane), emotional body (6th cosmic plane), and the mental body (5th cosmic plane) become sufficiently developed over many lives through gain of experience, there comes an essential development on the third sub-plane of the mental plane. Due to much-increased sensitivity of the lower bodies created through external impact, and to their readiness, a second outpouring of energy from the Life Being on high is evoked and passes downward through the Life-Stream into the mental body, and in conjunction with the material of that sub-plane, an electrical vortex is created which forms a body of Light known as the Soul or Causal body. It is into this prepared body that the ‘thread of Life’, the Life-Stream, remains anchored, creating in the process a most definite self-conscious being.

In time, this causal body, the Soul, will send forth a dual thread which anchors itself in the centre of the physical head, and in the heart, bringing consciousness of Life and due process. The soul is called the causal body because of the effect it will now have on the three lower bodies as evolution proceeds more rapidly at this point. Into this newly formed Light body will pass all the essential goodness of the human being’s earthly experiences at the end of each life cycle. It will grow larger and become more radiant as the Life-Being consciously undertakes its own unfoldment in time and through gained experience. At the early stages, however, there is a natural gap in consciousness existing between the Soul body and the three lower bodies which form the personality of the Life-Being. This gap between the lower and higher bodies will be bridged at some point on the path of return; it is a bridging which has been achieved by some Life-Beings already, and which will some day be embarked upon by all Life-Beings.

It is useful to remember that these three lower sheaths/bodies are simply tools of perception in these lower dimensions, and more importantly, they are tools to be used at a later stage as sensitive receptors and distributers of higher energy radiating from the soul body.

To bridge the existing gap between the lower bodies and the Soul body requires the birth of aspiration, which is simply desire of a higher nature as it affects mental matter. Think this out. Aspiration creates in time and through right effort the integration of the threefold personality set-up, so that the mind becomes the directing force of the two lower bodies (the physical and emotional). The three-fold personality, after many lives of experience, becomes weary of the limitations existing on the three lower planes and begins to seek actively for That which stands above. If we look around us we see many Life-Beings who are at this stage of evolutionary development.

Remember that the Life-Beings are in fact stationed on the higher plane, influencing in very subtle ways the sheaths/bodies that are situated in denser matter along the Life-Stream. There comes a definite point in the evolving Life where memory of truth begins to stir, even though the Life-Being is still very much limited by dense matter. It is this inner stirring that steers the evolving Life-Being into bridging consciously the gap that exists between the Soul and its shadow, the Personality.

As the mental body expands in the course of living experience, ideas of a finer nature begin to direct the impulses of the lower bodies, which results in the Life-Being becoming more integrated and disciplined; it becomes magnetic to those finer impressions which ever exist on the higher planes of the CPP. In this way, it creates for itself those finer situations on the outer planes which will provide the needed direction at each point for further expansions of consciousness.
It is in the steady development and integration of the lower bodies with the soul body that scope for further expansions of consciousness is procured. These expansions facilitate a clearer perception of reality and a deeper understanding of Life and its purpose.

The power of discrimination which evolves as a result of this bridging between the higher and the lower, presents the Life-Being with those life choices which are more intelligent; discernment between the real and the unreal is cultivated and culminates eventually in a most natural detachment towards the illusory things of the world. The soul body is now more able to direct the three-fold integrated personality in line with those qualities of Creative Intelligence, Love/Wisdom and Divine Will that are inherent qualities in the Life-Being itself. This is the first real step on the higher journey of the Path of Return.

The Life-Being, situated on high, has now a direct contact with that higher body of Light, the Soul, situated on the higher sub-planes of the mental plane; and the soul, in turn, now has a firm grip on the threefold personality, but there is much further to go on the Path of Return. Further success is achieved through a series of revelations as it learns to wield, step by step, the higher aspects of mind. Before it can do this, it has to bridge another natural gap between the now soul-infused personality and the higher three planes of the CPP. To bridge this gap requires the development of Will, the highest aspect of its Being, and much will be required in terms of effort before it is able to stand in full wakefulness of Its true Self.
