TEACHINGS OF THE HEART III

How shall We explain when the heart is silent?
How shall We quicken when the heart is heavier than iron?
How shall We move the heart which has died in spirit?

Thus one can learn to value each reverberation of the heart when the secret flower manifests a multitude of petals which guard the sacredness of the spirit.

How shall We explain when the heart is silent?

‘We’ are all those who depend upon and reflect the cosmic pulse. How necessary it is to learn to feel one’s heart not as one’s own, but as the Universal one. The heart that is silenced cannot flow outward; obstructed as it is by walls of irrelevant thought and by storms of passion, it grows insensitive to the tender touch of the thrills of Being. The cosmic pulse beats as gently as the wind in the calm summer’s air and is easily lost; only through contact does the pulse accelerate into many subtle manifestations.

How shall We quicken when the heart is heavier than iron?

The Heart is the coffer of riches which cannot be acquired with gold. As a man thinketh, so he is. If the primary desire is for earthly riches, acquisition demands the ploys of expedience and the closing of the gate that opens the coffer. The source of all riches – both spiritual and material – is the bounteous heart, the Knower of all. ‘Seek spiritual wealth first!’ The Wise advise, ‘And sufficient unto the day there will be.’ It is the constant clamour for the lower that builds the substance heavier than iron.

How shall We move the heart which has died in spirit?

Only that heart from which no cunning, no corruption can be concealed can judge where freedom begins. The heart knows how to discern the seeds of untruth, but with each act of treason against Its better judgement, spirit is ignored, and in time, becomes as if deceased. People give little attention to the whisperings of the heart, drowned as it is in preference to loud voices. Listen not with the ears, O chela, so tuned as they are to the outer; seek first the mind till it blends with the heart, and in the blending, unite with the pulse of divine will.

“Thus one can learn to value each reverberation of the heart when the secret flower manifests a multitude of petals which guard the sacredness of the spirit.”

The secret flower is the soul, hidden from earthly sight by the veils of the lower shadows. It stands as a body of Light, a glowing and luminous Presence in the form and shape of a Lotus. Here in the centre of this blossom lies the One Heart burning with a soft and sweet fragrance as the Jewel in the Lotus. It is the true spirit in man, undying and eternal. Much time has passed in the making of this Lotus and in the forming of its petals, reverberating in protective silence all knowledge, love/wisdom and will. As we learn to value – in the land of the shadows – the thrills of the petals and the murmur of the Jewel, so we will come to know of That which is hidden, yet poured forth from the Lotus itself.

  7. Howdy! I know this is sort of off-topic but I had to ask.
Does operating a well-established blog such as yours require a large amount of work? I am completely new to running a blog but I do write in my journal everyday. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers. Thankyou!

    1. Hi Chloe. It does take time to upkeep a blog, but it is time worthwhile. If you enjoy sharing your ideas with others then I would recommend the blogging experience.
