THE SHARPSHOOTERS

It is said that every one of our actions is witnessed by those Beings in the universe Who are known in certain circles as the Sharpshooters of the Universe or the Lords of Karma. These Dispellers of Illusion are there in the universe to let loose their arrows in our direction in order to create those life conditions that are best suited for our inner growth and development; their karmic darts are deadly accurate in aim and never fail to miss their mark or purpose. Some of these darts are designed to wake us from the psychological sleep we have fallen into, some instigate major changes in our life direction, and others are sometimes fatal. The problem for many of us lies in the fact that we are totally unaware in our waking consciousness of these universal forces playing in our lives behind the scene, and so we do not see or acknowledge the causes and effects in events as they occur. On a deeper level, however, we do sometimes sense a mysterious hand at work in our lives and we respond occasionally in a more intuitive and spontaneous way.

The eye of the Sharpshooters is everywhere present, operating in a capacity that is far beyond our ordinary comprehension. These mysterious Lords of Karma, as portrayed in Eastern teachings, are very real indeed and many of us are now beginning to take a more careful note of what is written in these ancient teachings. But having circumscribed our daily existence with the glamours and illusions we have created over centuries, we are all too often overpowered by them and unable to take full advantage of the unique opportunities we are being given to explore this wondrous universe in which we live and of which we are a living part.

There are many in the world today who are awakening to a more dynamic approach to life, and as we do this, we burn away the fogs of glamour and illusion through the kindling of the fires of mind. The Sharpshooters of the Universe remain a very real presence in our lives – whether we are aware of them or not – and at any point in time, one of our moves may cause them to bend their bows and shoot their arrows in our direction. If they find us faultless in our relationships with family, friends or strangers, flawless in our business dealings with others, and impeccable in our attitude to life and living, they then deem us worthy; as a result, we may find our personal powers enhanced by a greater sense of freedom in our daily living. If, on the other hand, we spend most of our time in a whining and complaining manner, feeling either sorry for ourselves or strutting about in complacent self-importance, we lose the lessons of the moment and experience instead the ruthless effects of the arrows of the Sharpshooters.

Every event in life, no matter how insignificant it may appear to us is a challenge by universal power. ‘All inter-relationships, on whatever level, are based on the hunt for personal power within the context of universal power‘. This is the evolutionary driving force held in perfect check by the Sharpshooters of the Universe. How we claim our power in relation to others is the determining factor.

Can we sense, if only faintly, a guiding hand in our daily living?
