Here is an insightful quote that should never be forgotten by all lovers of Truth:
It should be borne in mind that words (ideas) connote something to us today – from the angle of our present point in evolution, from our inherited teaching and thought habits, and from the standpoint of modern knowledge and terminologies. Later they may appear in a totally different light when we know more and the race has advanced further into the light. From the light which streams forth from that larger synthesis, and from the angle of Those Whose consciousness is higher and greater and more inclusive, the significance of words (ideas) may appear totally different . . .
A definition (of a word or idea) may later be seen to be imperfect and even false, from the angle of a wider knowledge and a more inclusive grasp of wholes . . . The basic truths of today may be seen later as simply aspects of still greater truths, and when the greater truth is grasped, the significance and the interpretation of its formerly important part is seen to be widely different to what was supposed.

Consider this from the point of view of modern day politics, economics, education, science and religion. Have we found a satisfactory solution for the well-being of mankind as a whole in any of these fields of human endeavour? Or are we searching still for those higher truths that will guide us out of the apparent present impasse into a fuller and higher perspective?

Aim higher! Beautifully put.

We are acquisitive creatures, indeed, not only with material things but very much in the realm of ideas and beliefs also. How to remain fluid and free from attachment to our beloved ideals and pet theories is the challenge we all face.
