GOODWILL

The motivating power of goodwill is an essential to right action; with the desire for light and love, active in the hearts of many, it will not be too long before the idea of right human relations will have become the ideal of the masses and will be rapidly taking form in all national, public and community affairs.

If we look at the general trend in our world today we will see birth signs of collective goodwill occurring even now, gathering dynamic momentum for fundamental change in the right and needed direction. The hearts of men and women everywhere are basically sound and loving and all that is needed to precipitate the power of collective goodwill is recognition of opportunity and a united voice upholding all that is good, true and beautiful.

Do we ever question deeply whether there is a destiny for humanity?  For surely there is one. Perhaps, it is to be the exponent of the mind of Truth expressing active intelligence, motivated by love and implemented by goodwill.

If we cast our minds back for a moment at the historical events of the second world war, and humanity’s part in that decisive battle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness (for that is truly what it was), we will acknowledge that the war was won, not through devotion or the attachment of millions of men to some prized ideal; it was won by the simple performance of duty, and the desire to safeguard human rights. Few men were heroes – they were drafted and taught to fight and had to fight. It was a group recognition of duty.  Fortunately for us, the forces of light were victorious in the second world war and were able to keep evil at bay.

It has been said that the “door where evil dwells” is kept open by humanity through its selfish desire, its hatreds and its separateness, by its greed and its racial and national barriers, its low personal ambitions and its love of power and cruelty. As goodwill and light stream forth into the minds and hearts of men, these evil qualities and these directed energies which keep the door of evil open will give place to a longing for right human relations, to a determination to create a better and more peaceful world and to a worldwide expression of the will-to-good.

A very different kind of war is taking place in our world today, a more subtle war with very much at stake; it is an economic war that is having immediate and adverse effect on the lives of millions of people at the present time, and has potentially devastating consequences for future civilisation. Today, a similar group recognition of duty is required, but it is a duty which necessitates the illumination of the collective mind and the enactment of the collective will-to-good in the hearts of men and women everywhere. The energy of love demonstrating as goodwill and as fixed determination to bring about right human relations, is taking form in every field of human endeavour; in many of our national, public and community affairs; and globally. We are seeing the wonderful effects of these movements of goodwill present in every country, and it will not be too long before the idea of right human relations will be the common ideal of the masses.

The sooner we acknowledge the fact that we are one race living under the umbrella of one group soul, known collectively as the Human Soul, the sooner we will come to the realisation of our destiny and the wonderful purpose for which we are born on this earth.
