Divali is one of the major religious festivals in India, and is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. The name derives from Sanskrit – dipavali – meaning “row of lights.”
The festival generally symbolises the victory of light over darkness.
“When Sri Rāma, the Prince of Ayodhyā returned from the forest after 14 years of exile, having fought an epic battle with the demoniac forces, he was greeted with lighted lamps. The darkness was dispelled and goodness had prevailed. He was crowned king.”

Divali is celebrated widely all around the world with lamps, lights, fireworks and sweet foods – it is a time of joy and celebration of life, a time to express the ‘feel good factor’ and celebrate with friends and family.
Though it may appear to human minds that the forces of destruction are more powerful in the world today, in the larger scheme of evolution, the Forces of Light have greater potency. Let us join them, now and always, by infusing the light of our souls into the world to elevate the planet.
Wishing you all a very Happy Divali filled with joy, light and love.
