The Wanton Destruction of Gaza

🕊️

“A new report on Israel’s genocidal assault on the Gaza Strip has revealed that the Palestinian territory has “lost an astounding 71.5 percent of its total documented cultural heritage during this war.” It concluded that the Israeli “targeting was openly deliberate, culminating in the levelling of entire historic neighbourhoods, particularly in Gaza City…

The report reveals a picture of methodical, wanton destruction and subsequent theft of artefacts by the Israelis…”

Reflection:

Nobody ever escapes the consequences of the deeds they set loose in this world. Humanity is one, in all its diversity. There is a law in the universe, held quietly in the hearts of those awakened enough to sense its truth. It is the law of Karma — action — the steady consequence of all that we do in this world. No deed, good or harmful, ever passes unnoticed by the forces of light that ever guide humanity toward what is real. Yet the choice remains ours: to act in recognition of our shared life, or to turn away from it through greed and blind selfishness.

Acts such as those described in the article above stand in stark violation of the higher law, whether we know this consciously or not. Life on this physical earth is brief, though many forget, imagining in ignorance that they are here forever. We come and we go, and with each return there is the chance to grow in the light or to turn from it at our own cost.

God bless our sisters and brothers in Gaza, and all across the world who have fallen into the hands of those who, for now, cannot hear the good, the true, and the beautiful.
